The Hug-a-Bub is a wrap around, soft cotton baby sling which holds your baby close to your heart. In the Hug-a-Bub, your baby feels hugged even though your hands may be busy doing other things.
The Hug-a-Bub’s ergonomic design, wraps around your torso, from shoulders to hips, reducing unnecessary strain on your shoulders, neck and back. The wrap offers symmetrical weight distribution and is therefore extremely comfortable. The wide shoulder wraps double up to provide secure support for babies' head and neck, making it truly hands free.
The Hug-a-Bub wraps comes in two styles – with front pocket (for self storage) and pocketless. There are two fabric choices – standard and organic. Both fabrics have just enough stretch to hold baby firm and ensure user comfort.
The Hug-a-Bub wrap is an ideal carrier for the first 5-6 months when you want to carry your baby for medium to long periods of time. If you want to carry your baby for shorter periods of time, a side sling such as the Hug-a-Bub Ring Sling is often preferred as it is quick and easy to put on. The ‘Peanut Shell’ sling is also a popular fuss free, throw-n-go sling perfect for making quick dashes into the shop – see HERE for more info. It should be noted that the Peanut Shell is sized according to the carer. So if the sling needs to be shared by different sized carers, an adjustable sling, such as the Hug-a-Bub Ring Sling will be more useful. It is made from cool hand woven fabrics, and has a lightly padded edge that sits under your toddler’s legs when used in the hip carry position – see below for full colour choice.
If your baby is approaching 5-6 months of age, we recommend the ERGObaby carrier as it offers front, back and hip carry positions– see HERE for more info. The back carry position is a favourite carry position for older infants and toddlers. Back muscles are much stronger than those on the front, making your baby feel a lot lighter! The ERGObaby carrier offers great value as it can be used up to a maximum weight limit of 18kgs which is equivalent to an average 4-5 yr old. The ERGObaby carrier can be used from birth with aid of the infant insert accessory which is required until the baby is about 3-4 months old, or until he has developed head control.
